Beyond Zero Emissions presentation

Title: Beyond Zero Emissions presentation Location: The Hotel Nicholas, 1A Camp St, Beechworth (on SE corner of High St) Description: The Wodonga-Indigo Branch of the Australian Greens Victoria has arranged for Chris Haines from Beyond Zero Emissions to present information locally on how Australia can move to a safe, healthy, zero emissions future. Beyond Zero Emissions is an independent not-for-profit organisation that works with volunteer technical experts to research climate change solutions, and to educate individuals and communities. Its core goal is “to develop blueprints for the implementation of climate change solutions that will rapidly reduce emissions and give our society and global ecosystems a chance of surviving into the future.”

In addition: Australian Greens’ National Climate Action Campaigner, Alex Bhathal, will provide an overview of the work and preliminary outcomes of the Local Initiatives Campaign, which commenced in June, 2011, looking at what works and what doesn’t when it comes to climate action campaigning, and why local initiatives are so crucial to the success of the climate action movement.

This is a great opportunity to hear and learn locally from two committed people working actively in the vital field of climate change mitigation. Everyone is welcome, so please pass this information on through your networks.

RSVP by Thursday 17th November for dinner and/or the presentation. Kind regards, Cheryl 0478 228 144
